Abstract :
This paper investigates the hand-hold implications on the electromagnetic coupling between human head and cellular phones. FDTD-method has been used to evaluate both the antenna performance and the induced SAR in head as caused by different phone models held at different hand positions. Bar-type and clamshell-type phones having external and internal antennas are used to simulate their electromagnetic coupling with a human head. The later is simulated by an MRI-based numerically correct head model.
