Abstract :
This paper deals with turbo detection techniques for Single User Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (SU-MIMO) antenna schemes. Here the iterative approaches for MIMO system are investigated for a turbo receiver with random interleaver and A Posteriori Probability (APP) decoders over two modulation techniques: a candidate technique for next generation wireless communication systems. Simulation results show that, in a 2×2 antenna configuration, turbo processing provides consistent improvement of the link performance. There is an improvement by 3.5 dB in the performance of turbo based MIMO using Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK) modulation. The performance is improved by 2.0 dB, using Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM)-16 modulation scheme as compared to without turbo decoders.
