Abstract :
The aim of this work is to present and justify the set of models of the current-fed self-controlled synchronous machine (SCSM) the authors have developed how to optimize the control of such a complex system. Dynamic and steady state comparative results about the currents, the voltages-EMF phase shift, the thyristor blocking time, the average torque/DC link current ratio are given. A thyristor blocking time control strategy, implemented and tested in digital simulation to obtain the maximum available torque for each value of supply current by closed loop control of the reverse voltage application time of the SCRs, is presented
