Abstract
Driving assistance systems (DAS) use several sensors and communication systems to perceive road environment and provide useful information to help drivers. Some DAS influence vehicle trajectories and others simply warn driver about important road information. Generally involved in vehicle guidance systems, the magnetic markers are exploited here in infrastructure-vehicles communication in order to warn drivers about speed limitations. Bar codes consist of a set of magnetic markers that are buried in the ground. These codes are read by embedded magnetometers. The driver or any DAS is warned about the speed limitation. Magnetic markers detection algorithms are implemented on an embedded computer and experimental results obtained on a track are presented
