Abstract
Sequences from the well-known linear PN-sequence families like m-sequences or Gold-codes all have periods 2n-1, n integer. These sequences provide good auto- and/or crosscorrelation properties whereas-in some cases-they do not fit system clock requirements in that their period is not equal to 2n but smaller by one. Thus, it might be advantageous to increase the period of the above mentioned sequences by one yielding extended sequences with period 2n. In the article extended m-sequences and sequences obtained from extended m-sequences are investigated and compared to m-sequences and Gold-codes. The even auto- and crosscorrelation functions are evaluated
