Abstract :
An efficient and rigorous iterative method to analyze planar metallic microstrip circuits with arbitrary patterns is presented. The method is based on the concept of waves. It consists in generating a recursive relationship between a given source and the reflected waves issued from the discontinuity plane. This plane is divided into cells and characterized by the scattering operator matrix related to the adequate boundary conditions. At each calculation´s iteration and up to convergence, the fast mode transformation (FMT) is used to pass from the spatial to spectral domain. The good agreement between simulation results and experimental data justifies the design procedure and validates the present analysis approach.
