Abstract
Cost minimization and secure operation are, in general, two conflicting objectives. In this way, it is important to incorporate security assessment in the economic dispatch solution. This paper presents a methodology to determine an economic dispatch that takes into account both static and dynamic security. In the proposed method, the integration of different power systems analysis tools is applied to evaluate the system dynamic security during the economic dispatch computation. Furthermore, to conduct the systems to a secure dispatch without getting away from the optimal solution, an intelligent inference is used.
