Abstract :
Strict optical orthogonal codes (OOCs) are presented for use in asynchronous all-optical code division multiple-access (CDMA) networks. The proposed code can strictly guarantee peaks of its cross-correlation functions and sidelobes of its any autocorrelation function to be “1” in purely asynchronous data communications and photonic bit switching applications. The basic theory of strict OOCs is given and a simple code-construction approach is also presented. Moreover, an experiment on all-optical CDMA systems is demonstrated to verify the correlation characteristics of the proposed code
