Abstract
We have developed a new method to measure and compare individual vessel diameters at the same location across multiple images of the same subject. This computer assisted semi-automated measurement includes some novel techniques, such as three-point optic disk identification, homocentric orientation and color mapping vessel edge detection. This method is able to identify the diameter changes of individual vessels across multiple retinal images. It will contribute to the better understanding of retinal microcirculation, physiology and pathology. The proposed method has been tested to be repeatable and reliable.
