Abstract
In this paper, direct torque control (DTC) for dual-three phase induction motor (DTPIM) is presented. Rule-based optimum selection schemes of space voltage vector are proposed. Fast torque response with low ripples of torque and flux is achieved. To investigate effects of different amplitude vectors on torque, flux and stator current, the largest, second largest and smallest amplitude vectors are applied to the DTPIM according to the proposed rule-based respectively. The simulation results clearly demonstrate that smaller vectors are beneficial to steady performance of torque, but detrimental to stator current.
