Abstract :
This paper describes a methodology of precipitation and turbulence classification based on radar echo signal features measured by polarimetric radar. A neural network classifier is used to distinguish between different precipitation and turbulence classes. The classification procedure takes a decision about the type of precipitation and turbulence intensity by simultaneous feature consideration. In this paper the turbulence classification using multi-parametric decision technique is described
