Abstract
A possible mechanism of spike effect connected with height profile features of a metal scatterer on a PEC ground plane is considered in two dimensions for perfectly conducting approach of sea water. A principal possibility of super events (HH > VV) is demonstrated for simple scatterer geometries. One shows that concave and convex parts of a gravity wave can produce spike effects at some grazing angles
