Abstract :
Bangla numerals have more curved corners in comparison to English numerals. To represent English numerals, 7-segments display is so popular because of its simplicity and accuracy. Unlike English numerals, designing of simple and accurate segmented representation of Bangla numerals is still a research area of Bangla processing. However 18, 16, 11, 10, 9, 8, dual 7 etc. are the number of previous individual proposed segmented display (Md. Abul Kalam Azad et al., 2005) (Khaled Ahsan, AKM et al., 2003) to represent Bangla numerals which has some limitations of using more segments or inaccuracy in displaying numerals. This paper proposed a new model of 8-segment display for Bangla numerals, which is simpler and produces more accurate and uniform numerals then previous display segments. Both the segments and bend or curved segments were reduced to reduce the difficulty of numeral representation and also improve the shape and overall outlook of each numeric character without segment overlapping
