Abstract :
In this paper, the electromagnetic field characteristics are calculated with the full-wave technique based on the integral equations of microscopic electrodynamics. Theoretical results are presented for the characteristics of the light waves diffracted from planar double-periodic metal structures placed on top of a dielectric half-space. The obtained results demonstrate the polarization state changes in light diffracted from chiral planar structures. Furthermore, light transmission through optically thick metal films perforated with a periodic array of subwavelength holes is studied
