Abstract
Properties of the boundary field Fourier spectrum in the angular spectrum representation are considered. It is shown that the spectrum has singularities at points which separate spatial frequencies of propagating and evanescent modes. Therefore functions with continuous spectrum are physically impossible and can be used for simulations only with analysis of approximation errors
