Abstract :
The transfer alignment for harmonization of airborne sensors is discussed. Two different transfer alignment algorithms are introduced, drawing attention to exploit any low level natural angular motion of an aircraft that occur in normal straight and level flight to reduce or bound attitude errors in sensors and weapon IMU. A new filter algorithm for transfer alignment is first presented that augments the velocity measurements with angular rate measurements. And then an improved algorithm utilizing integrated velocity and integrated angular rate matching is introduced to reduce the effect of the aircraft wing flexure. Finally, simulations are conducted to validate the proposed approaches feasibility.
