Abstract
The author presents a method for evaluating thermal endurance (aging) of flexible materials consisting of plastic film reinforced by fiber mat. Pertinent laboratory experiments are described, along with the technique, called the wrapped tube proof voltage method, in which the tested material is wrapped around a brass tube. The effectiveness of the method is supported by a large number of test data. The method can be used for all kinds of flexible sheet insulating materials
