Abstract :
Based on the fact that adaptive compensation requires a huge number of weights, but among them only a few have non-zero values after convergence in multiple echo cancellation applications for long distance telephone networks, a new adaptive algorithm is proposed. Extensive computer simulations show that the new algorithm exhibits superior performance in convergence speed and compensation accuracy with only a little increase in computation compared with the original NLMS algorithm
