Abstract
This paper studies about the Single-phase fully controlled thyristor rectifier and a practical model is developed in the laboratory. Both the testing and design of the model has been done in the electronics laboratory. The design methods are briefly described in this paper and hardware results are observed. A practical model of the Single-phase fully controlled rectifier is designed and made to operate with resistive R load and give the results successfully. And also a retriggerable monostable gate triggering circuit is designed which is used to fire the thyristors at different firing angles. The effect of firing angle of the thyristors on the load voltage and load current is also studied.
