Abstract
A novel compact printed monopole antenna with multiple operating bands for WLAN/WiMAX is presented. By using a Z-shaped strip, dual operation bands centered at 2.5 and 5.7 GHz can be obtained. To achieve the WiMAX application band centered at 3.5GHz, an h-shaped strip is introduced. Several multiband operation characteristics of the proposed antenna, such as impedance bandwidth, radiation pattern, and realized gain have been investigated. Moreover, the sensitivity of the proposed antenna to the size variations in its feed ground has also been analyzed. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulated ones.
