Abstract
This paper presents a low-power up-conversion mixer, designed in a standard 0.25-mum CMOS technology, for 3.1-5 GHz ultra-wideband applications. The circuit provides 3.8 dB of power gain and an output-referred 1-dB compression point of -14.7 dBm, while drawing only 1.3 mA from a 1.5-V supply voltage. The 3-dB frequency bandwidth is 1.9 GHz, from 3.1 GHz to 5 GHz, and the noise figure is lower than 9 dB all over the frequency range of operation. The up-conversion mixer shows competitive RF performance, in spite of the achieved wideband/low-power optimization
