Abstract
In this paper, a novel configuration of dual-polarized waveguide antenna with low cross-polarization is present for SAR applications. The horizontal polarized antenna is a ridged waveguide transverse straight-slot antenna, which has very low cross-polarization. The vertical-polarized antenna is a longitudinally-slotted ridge waveguide antenna, which has broadband character and low cross-polarization. A 8 × 16 elements dual-polarized antenna was fabricated and measured to verify the validity of the design. The measured bandwidth of VSWR<;2.0 is 9.4%, and the measured cross-polarization level is less than -35dB in the entire bandwidth.
