Abstract :
We have been investigating a new device for detection of bio-molecular recognition events using field effect devices, which is based on potentiometric measurement of intrinsic molecular charges at a gate insulator/solution interface. So far we have succeeded in a direct detection of various DNA recognition events such as hybridisation, intercalation, primer extension and so on, and have found further the possibility of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) typing using field effect devices. Here, we report on the possibility of DNA sequencing and analysis using genetic field effect devices.
