Abstract :
The paper addresses a problem of designing efficient multi-carrier modulation/demodulation scheme appropriate for non-stationary PLC channel characterized by different types of synchronous and asynchronous impulsive noise. In such circumstances an applied transmultiplexer scheme should minimize a spectral leakage of wide-band disturbances to many carriers. In the paper application of circular (periodic) real sine/cosine-modulated Gabor transform with window having high sidelobes´ attenuation is proposed. The presented approach is compared against standard OFDM modulator, and its advantages are shown, coming from usage of appropriate time-frequency data tiling within each transmitted frame.
