Abstract :
A new super-resolution TOA estimation method the in frequency domain for indoor geolocation based on IEEE 802.11 a/g was proposed. WLAN IEEE 802.11 a/g offers the frequency channel response which is necessary for frequency domain TOA estimation, and the Root-MUSIC algorithm was adopted for its super-resolution capability in narrow bandwidth conditions. Experiment results show that this new method can realize high precision ranging in the 20 MHz bandwidth IEEE 802.11 a/g offers, with the probability of the ranging errorLt0.5 m 71%, the probability of the ranging errorLt1 m 93.7%, the probability of the ranging errorLt1.5 m 98.4%, and the maximum ranging error less than 2 m.
