Abstract
In this paper, a printed isotropic-radiated planar antenna is proposed for 2.4 GHz Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) applications. The antenna is composed of two crossed dipoles printed on one side of a substrate. By adjusting the lengths of two crossed dipoles, an isotropic radiation pattern is achieved in the whole band of 2.4-2.48 GHz. The proposed antenna was studied by means of numerical simulations. The results show that the differences between the maximum and the minimum of gain are smaller than 4 dB in the full space. And the performances of the reflection coefficient and radiation pattern are also studied and analyzed.
