Abstract :
This paper presents an analysis to colour bleeding caused by image & video compression. In this novel approach, an attempt was made to isolate and evaluate two components of colour bleeding; one mainly due to quantisation and other due to sub-sampling of colour components. We have used synthetic test patterns to stress the codecs and measure the two components of colour bleeding artefact.
