Circular polarization X-band selector

Circular polarization is used in the X-band, so polarizers are necessary components of a antenna-feeding channel. The work considers an X-band polarization selector for transforming linear polarization into circular polarizations. The polarization selector considered is a square waveguide separated in the center with a tapered metallic plate forming three inputs, two with rectangular and one with square cross-sections. The polarization selector developed provides the required ellipticity of 0.8 within a 15% frequency band (7.2-8.4 GHz).
