Abstract
Using the representation of an input field by way of the spectrum of propagating modes or ray tubes, modal and geometrical optics procedures for calculation of irradiative propagation in oversized hollow circular waveguides at their excitation by linearly polarized Gaussian beams are proposed. Conditions of optimum excitation are found and the polarization degree of output beams is determined at their waveguide transmission.
