Abstract
A process suspension approach is introduced by this paper to improve the OS boot up time. Two key factors are discussed to apply this approach. One is how to determine which processes can be suspended and resumed by external triggers. The other is how to recover from our incorrect decision to suspend some processes, resulting in deteriorating the OS boot up time unexpectedly, by using Bayesian Updating method.
