Abstract
The AT&T ODL 200 optical data-link is designed for multi-mode transmission at data rates from 40 to 220 Mb/s, and for distances up to 3 km. A description is given of the physical design requirements and how they have been met for the ODL 200 family. The discussion covers the overall package configuration, the various functional blocks, thermal design considerations, and reliability.<>
