Abstract :
More attention has been paid to the high-speed generator for its many merits, such as easy to install, high efficiency and high power density etc. However, due to the high rotor speed and high frequency of the stator winding current, the design of a high-speed generator is much more difficult and quite different from designing a conventional generator with low speed and low frequency. The features and design considerations of high-speed PM generators driven by micro turbines are introduced in this paper. The choice of rotor structure, the design of stator core and winding, the bearing structure and the control system are discussed in some detail.
