Abstract
Water turbine generating units system is a complicated system and it is difficult for PID controller or fuzzy controller to meet the control demand. In order to overcome the shortcoming of the conventional hydraulic turbine PID governor, a new self-tuning fuzzy PID control method based on improved Genetic algorithms is proposed. The output of fuzzy reasoning can adjust PID parameter in the process of control. The improved Genetic algorithms are used to optimize the parameters and rules of fuzzy reasoning system. Simulation results show that the designed controller is better then traditional control strategy, which has good dynamic character and stabilization when system changes.
