Abstract :
The paper discusses experiences gained from the evolution of novel software process technology, a code generation environment. It focuses on the question of why the technology could not, after all, be successfully transferred to industrial use by its developer organisation. The article analyses the portfolio of the code generation related projects of the case organisation from 1985 to 1998, in order to evaluate why the technology was not accepted by the intended users
