  • Abstract
The effluent from the primary sedimentation tank of sewage factory has been treated by the moderate opposite angled flap anaerobic baffled reactor (OAF-ABR) under the lower temperature (10°C), the experiment clarified expressly that the influence of suspended solids (SS) to sewage treatment effect and anaerobic microbic activity. The results showed that the operating mode augmented current diffuse to improve touch between granular sludge and wastewater, and the removal of COD and SS was 65%-75% and 80%-85% respectively when the concentration of COD and SS were 150 mg/L-350 mg/L and 90 mg/L-240 mg/L by controlling hydraulic retention time (HRT) and solids retention time (SRT). The methanogenic activity increased along with the concentration of mixed-liquor suspended solids (MLSS) increase, and the biogas production attained to the peak value at MLSS =43.862 g/L, then failed down instead when the concentration of MLSS over 43.862 g/L. The operating and design parameters of OAF-ABR were made sure through moderate experiment.
