Abstract :
In this paper the analysis for a typical five-phase unbalanced system is carried-out. With a numerical example, a systematic approach for building the symmetrical components transformation matrix has been discussed. With MATLAB the results are validated. This invokes the interest in the reader, to think and extend the applications of various electrical engineering theorems to the near vicinity of their application areas. This paper also serves as an additional experiment in power system course for undergraduate students in Electrical Engineering.
