Abstract
This paper describes a heuristic method for determining minimum loss configuration of radial distribution networks. The reconfiguration process starts with a power flow of the system with all candidate switches closed. In this meshed status, the choice of switches to be opened is based on sensitivity analysis in first procedure and branch exchange operation in second procedure. The solution algorithm has been illustrated on two test systems for demonstrating the effectiveness of proposed method.
