Abstract :
The article aims to introduce the Bayesian paradigm of statistical inference and to illustrate, in a very broad manner some of the ways in which these techniques can be applied in medical informatics. It is assumed that the reader has some basic familiarity with the “classical” method of statistical inference and throughout the article the Bayesian techniques are contrasted with their frequentist alternatives
