Abstract
The error performance of a fully correlated Rician fading MIMO channel is assessed by evaluating in closed form the decoding metric and the pairwise error probability. Three types of receivers are addressed by this work: i) a genie-aided receiver based on perfect knowledge of the channel state information (CSI); ii) a mismatched receiver exploiting pilot-aided channel matrix detection followed by the use of a perfect-CSI metric; Hi) an optimum pilot-aided receiver based on perfect channel distribution information at the receiver (CDIR) avoiding the direct use of the channel matrix.
