Abstract :
Biology can inspire engineering and computing into new dimensions. This is not a recent idea, but continues to give designers novel ways at looking at problems. Is it payback time? Can we make use of biologically-inspired systems to help with medical informatics? The paper describes work currently being undertaken in the area of bio-inspired systems and suggests some interesting links back to medicine
