Abstract
City water environment system is a complex large-scale system, with complicated content and various factors. According to the research of its characteristics, this paper applies system dynamics techniques to formulate, validate and simulate the sustainable water use through a case study of Harbin City in China. After verifying against the historical data, the model is simulated under five different development options. The consequence drawn from the comparison of simulation results under various schemes suggests that combination strategy and conservation scenario could alleviate the conflict between water supply and demand effectively to reach a satisfied object of sustainable use of water resources.
