Abstract :
Positioning and building distribution map of the forest tree is important to the digital forestry. With a Total Station, the tree position can be surveyed and calculated. In this way, the tree is measured one by one. Measurement process and distribution map building are inefficient. With a mobile vehicle equipped with GPS-INS and laser radar, the trees are measured in succession and the distribution map of tree position is build automatically in real time. The information fusion technique is applied to integrate several measurement of a tree. This method is more efficient and result is more accurate.
