Abstract :
As a specimen, the two kinds of low density polyethylene (LDPE) with a different density are blended according to a different ratio. For these specimens, we measured impulse dielectric breakdown at 30°C and 90°C in order to investigate the influence of blending on high-field current and dielectric breakdown characteristics of LDPE. From the results, it is confirmed that the breakdown strength is decreased without being associated with the effect of blend at 30°C. The breakdown strength of the blended specimen, however, is higher than that of original two kinds of LDPE at 90°C. Also, the specimen of blend ratio 50% has the highest value of breakdown strength among the specimens
