Abstract
Industrial applications for gas cleaning using a pulsed discharge plasma have been experimentally studied. The authors proposed a new nonthermal plasma process for reforming hydrocarbon fuel from methane by means of a concentric-cylinder-type reactor. This paper presents some experimental results of inserting a glass-fiber sheet between cathode and anode in the plasma chemical reactor. By inserting a glass-fiber sheet, production of hydrocarbon gases was enhanced compared with that without insulation material while input power was the same. Especially, ethylene production efficiency was much higher compared to the case with no insulation material
