  • Abstract
The use of adaptive transmission is examined for slow-frequency-hop radio networks in which the radios can adjust the power in the transmitted signal and the rate of the Reed-Solomon code to respond to variations in partial-band interference and propagation loss. A simple yet effective algorithm is described for adapting the power and code rate, and a Markov channel model is employed as one illustration of the performance of the adaptive algorithm
