Abstract :
Examines the validity of a well-known user information satisfaction instrument: the Doll and Torkzadeh (1988) end-user computing satisfaction instrument. A first contribution of this study is the replication of earlier findings by an independent researcher. However, more important are the extensions to earlier studies provided in this paper. First, this paper does not only test the validity of the instrument by a confirmatory factor analysis; in addition, structural equation modelling is used to assess the measurement properties of the instrument. Next, an expert panel has been used to assess the face validity of the measurement instrument. Finally, this paper presents a generally applicable method to validate the translation of a measurement instrument, which makes it possible to apply the instrument to non-English speaking respondents
