Abstract :
In this paper, a power line noise filter using motor-generator (M-G noise filter) which has superior suppression characteristics than the traditional L-C noise filter is proposed. In order to prove the possibility to realize an M-G noise filter, the attenuation characteristics (high-frequency characteristics) of the motor-generator are experimentally and theoretically evaluated. It is shown that the noise attenuation characteristics of the motor-generator are classified into the following three groups: (1) an ideal attenuation characteristics area in the low frequency range, (2) a noise floor area in the middle frequency range, an (3) a degradation area of noise attenuation in the high frequency range
