  • Abstract
    The measurement of instantaneous frequency distribution (IFD) is proposed and prototype measuring equipment constructed to obtain the characteristics of wideband disturbance and to evaluate the effects of such disturbance on wideband digital communications. We propose an IFD measurement approach in which a wideband signal is received, and the distribution of the detected voltage corresponding to the signal´s instantaneous frequency is measured. This paper describes how the equipment works with a measuring example, and highlights the equipment´s features, applications, and utility
