Abstract :
A novel image compression method based on a adaptive nonuniform sampling delta modulation technique is presented. An edge restoration algorithm is also developed for improving the quality of the reconstructed image. Simulation results have shown that the SNR of the proposed technique is higher than that of the linear delta modulation (LDM), adaptive delta modulation (ADM) and nonuniform sampling delta modulation (NS-DM) techniques
