Abstract :
In this paper, a linear model of unified power flow controller is developed. The new features of the paper are as small signal modeling of UPFC based on the ideal transformer model, modeling UPFC with a coefficient like KUPFC instead of using a complicated model and proposing a modified linear block diagram. To illustrate the proposed model, a single-machine power system that consists of a synchronous generator, a UPFC and a transmission line connected to the grid is simulated.
